After Hurricane Helene swept through and left the area devastated, we’ve worked hard to rebuild our Riverfront Cottage-a cozy, updated retreat just minutes from Chimney Rock, Lake Lure, Hendersonville, and Asheville. While the backyard and deck were damaged, they’ve been lovingly restored, and the home is ready once again to welcome guests. Nestled beside a rushing river, this peaceful cabin sleeps four and offers the perfect place to relax, recharge, and support a community rising again. The spaceWelcome to the Riverfront CottageA place of quiet resilience, renewal, and rest by the waterWe are deeply grateful to welcome guests back to the Riverfront Cottage. After Hurricane Helene reshaped this region and our lives, we faced a season of loss that many in this community know all too well. One of our nearby properties was completely destroyed in the storm, leaving nothing behind. It was devastating, and it remains something we carry with us.This cottage, our gorgeous riverfront retreat in Bat Cave, endured. Though the storm caused damage, particularly to the deck and surrounding grounds, the home itself stood strong. In the weeks that followed, it became a symbol of hope and purpose for us. We committed ourselves fully to restoring it, not only as a place to stay, but as a space of comfort, continuity, and care for the guests and community we love. After months of rebuilding, clearing, repairing, and reimagining, we are ready to open our doors again. While some details have changed, the spirit of the cottage remains the same. It is peaceful, grounding, and deeply connected to its surroundings. We would be honored to share it with you.⸻About the CottageThe Riverfront Cottage is a thoughtfully updated retreat designed for rest and reconnection. It comfortably sleeps up to four guests and is well suited for couples, solo travelers, or a small family or group of friends. Whether you are planning a quiet getaway, working remotely in a peaceful setting, or simply longing for time near the water, this home offers a calm and restorative experience.Inside, you will find a warm and inviting space with comfortable furnishings, a fully equipped kitchen, and carefully chosen details throughout. The cottage is clean, cozy, and intentionally stocked with the things we value most when traveling ourselves, including quality linens, soft throws, local coffee, and a curated guide to the area. The true magic, however, is outdoors.Step onto the newly rebuilt deck. Gather around the firepit. Walk down to the riverbank and listen to the water move past. The sounds of the river, the breeze through the trees, and the rhythm of nature create a rare sense of quiet that feels especially meaningful here.⸻LocationThe cottage is ideally situated for exploring the region, while still feeling tucked away and private. We are located approximately:Five minutes from Chimney Rock, offering hiking, shopping, and small town charmTen minutes from Lake Lure, perfect for kayaking, beach days, and lakeside diningTwenty minutes from Hendersonville or Black MountainThirty minutes from Asheville and the Biltmore EstateMany guests enjoy day trips, though many others find their favorite moments happen simply by staying in and soaking up the surroundings.⸻A Community in RenewalBefore the storm, this area thrived from late spring through the holidays, with apple orchards, festivals, fall foliage, and a steady rhythm of visitors. Hurricane Helene changed much of that. Some trails remain closed and a few businesses are still finding their way back, but the spirit of the community is strong. Neighbors continue to support one another, cleanup efforts are ongoing, and signs of renewal appear every day. This cottage is a small part of that story.Staying here is not just about a beautiful place to sleep. It is about experiencing a town that is still standing, still welcoming, and still healing, and becoming part of that process, even in a small way.⸻What to Expect During Your StayThe cottage is fully operational and thoughtfully prepared for your arrival, including:Self check inHigh speed Wi FiHeating and coolingA fully equipped kitchenComfortable beds and furnishingsDigital and printed guest guidesA private riverside firepitA newly rebuilt deck with outdoor seatingWe have designed the space to meet your needs while maintaining a simple, peaceful atmosphere. We live nearby and are always happy to help if anything arises during your stay.⸻A Gentle RequestWe ask that guests approach the land and the space with care. While the cottage itself is complete and welcoming, the surrounding landscape is still in the process of healing. Some areas have been newly planted, and parts of the yard continue to evolve. We find beauty in this season of regrowth and hope you will, too.⸻Thoughtful PricingAs the area continues to recover, we are offering pricing that reflects our desire to welcome guests back thoughtfully and accessibly. Our hope is that visitors will discover this place, return often, and help breathe new life into a space that means so much to us.⸻We Would Love to Welcome YouWhether you are a seasoned mountain traveler, someone seeking quiet and reflection, or a visitor curious to witness the resilience of this community, you are welcome here.If you have questions about what is open, what to expect, or how to make the most of your stay, please reach out. It is not a commercial system. I ask the AC be set no lower than 68 degrees and the heat no higher than 74 degrees. Cell Service: My Verizon cell service works great for calling or texting at the Cottage. Data usage is not the best; however, the Cabin Wifi works great. No Smoking: There is no smoking or vaping of any kind permitted in the Cabin!!Outdoor Fire Pit: I do not supply wood for the outdoor fire pit, there maybe some left over from previous guests but please plan on bringing your own. The fire shall be supervised at all times! If you Cleaning Supplies: There is a starter supply of dishwashing soap, garbage bags, and paper towels. You will need to supply your own after the starter supply runs out. Summer Yard Maintenance: This Cottage does require routine yard maintenance throughout the spring, summer, and fall. I attempt to schedule this on days the Cottage is changing guests but it is not always possible. If yard maintenance ends up needing to occur during your stay, I will give you 24 hour notice. The service would never occur prior to 9 AM. If this is a concern, please let me know.Check in Time: 4:00 PMCheck Out Time: 10:00 AM. The housekeeper arrives shortly after 10:00 A.M..Pest Control: The cabin is treated regularly for insects, mice, & scorpions. However, you are on a mountain and at times they may make their way inside the cabin. Keep all doors and windows closed at all times to prevent unwanted guests, to include curious black bears!!
